Privacy Policy — Best Snooker Cue

Best Snooker Cue (bestsnookercue.com) is an independent review and buying-guide website for snooker and billiard equipment. It is operated by Eli Purian, a sole trader based in Israel. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to visitors from anywhere, and is written to meet the UK GDPR and EU GDPR standards that most of our readers are covered by.

What we collect

1. Anonymous usage statistics (always on)

When you view a page or click an outbound shop link, our own server records the page or product, the date, your browser type and the site that referred you. Your IP address is not stored: it is combined with your browser signature and turned into a one-way hash so that we can count unique visitors without being able to identify anyone. This data lives on our own server and is never sold or shared.

2. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

If you accept cookies in the banner, we load Microsoft Clarity, which sets cookies and records anonymised session replays and heatmaps so we can see how pages are used. Clarity's own privacy statement is at privacy.microsoft.com. If you decline, Clarity is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Details of every cookie are in our Cookie Notice.

3. Information you send us

If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to reply and for our records. We do not have user accounts, newsletters or comment forms at present; if we add any, this policy will be updated first.

Affiliate links and partner cookies

Best Snooker Cue is reader-supported. Product links marked "View on AliExpress", "View on Amazon" or "#ad" are affiliate links: when you click one and buy, the retailer pays us a commission at no extra cost to you. We participate in the AliExpress Affiliate Programme and the Amazon Associates Programme. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

When you click an affiliate link you leave our site. The retailer (AliExpress, Amazon or another partner) sets its own cookies on its own domain to attribute the sale to us; those cookies are governed by the retailer's privacy policy, not ours. We never see who bought what, only aggregate order counts and commission totals from the affiliate network.

Legal basis

Anonymous, hashed usage statistics: our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site (no personal data is retained).
Analytics cookies: your consent, given in the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
Email correspondence: our legitimate interest in answering you.

How long we keep data

Hashed usage statistics are kept for up to 24 months for year-on-year comparison. Microsoft Clarity retains session data according to its own schedule (currently up to 13 months). Emails are kept for up to 2 years.

Who else sees data

Our hosting provider (Vultr) processes server logs on our behalf. Microsoft (Clarity) processes analytics only after you consent. Affiliate networks (AliExpress Portals, Amazon Associates) receive the click itself, not your identity from us. We do not sell, rent or trade any visitor information.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR you can ask what data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, or complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO). Because our own statistics are anonymised we usually cannot link any record to you, but write to us and we will do what we can. You can withdraw cookie consent at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer or by clearing your browser's site data for bestsnookercue.com.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

If you subscribe to our newsletter we store your email address, the page you signed up on, the date and wording of your consent, and when you confirmed or unsubscribed, plus the same anonymised visitor hash we use for statistics (used only to stop abuse of the sign-up form). We use this solely to send you the newsletter; we never sell or share your address.

Legal basis: your consent, given by signing up and confirming via the link we email you (double opt-in). Email delivery: confirmation emails and newsletters are sent through our email provider Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which processes your address on our behalf. Newsletters link to pages on this site rather than directly to shops. Unsubscribing: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link; after you unsubscribe we keep only a record that you did, so we don't email you again. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 90 days. You can also ask us to delete your record entirely at info@bestsnookercue.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes; the date at the top always shows the latest revision. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
